Can You Map The Nether

Maps work in the Nether, although the map must be crafted in the Nether. Maps crafted in the Nether do not work in the Overworld, and vice versa. Maps made in the Nether will not display any terrain because the roof of the world is covered in bedrock rendering them useless.

Do maps update in the nether?

Make the way Overworld maps work in in the Nether the same on Java as it is on Bedrock. When you take a map into the Nether on Bedrock, as you travel, the pointer updates to show the equivalent position in the Overworld. On Java, map pointers freeze while you are in the Nether.

Can you map the end?

A Nether map cannot be used in the End — the map appears, but the place marker is not shown anywhere — and similarly, an End map cannot be used in the Overworld or the Nether.

Does a compass point to a nether fortress?

Why does my nether portal take me somewhere else?

It’s a bug in the code logic, since the nether is 8 times smaller than the overworld, it will attach nearby portals together, but sometimes it doesn’t detect other portals. When it does, it can miss its target and spawn you a few dozen blocks off. Thats not a bug, its by design.

Can you find diamonds in the Nether?
