Canvas receives information about students from a few different sources which are all related to your school’s use of Canvas. Canvas receives information directly from your school when your school sends Canvas information to create your user account in Canvas.

Does Canvas collect student data?

The terms state Canvas collects a wide range of information about students from work submissions, assessment scores, content feedback, and learning tools. Any forum posts or comments will show usernames, and any information posted by a user can be read, collected, and shared by others who access them.
