How much will a bag of multi finish cover? Well if you go by the spec a bag of Multi and Board finish will cover 10.25-75 m2 at a coverage of 2mm on Plaster board.

Can you tile over multi finish?

Can Hardwall be used on external walls?

On an external wall that is single brick you must use sand and cement. out of line etc Straight walls, pre-mix plaster, hardwall etc or sand and cement(lime aswell). Use multi finish for top coat. PS walls will need to be prep with PVA or build grit depending on surface requirements.

You can plaster directly over hardwall the day after. As Wine~o said, pva either day before or prior to skimming. Try not to over saturate the hardwall as it will blister. Blue Grit will give a much longer workable time.

Why is Hardwall plaster cracking?

If the background has a lot of suction/or is very dry, the plaster will crack as the moisture is absorbed too quickly into the substrate,, it needs prep first, to control the suction. Too much heat will do the same by drying the plaster to quickly causing it to shrink and crack.

It will adhere fine, as it’s designed to go over brick and blockworkyou don’t pva, just wet the wall, but you would be better with either sand and cement or a renovating plaster due to the possibility of damp coming through.

yes you can,but it would be better with a finish coat,there will be to much suction on browning/bonding so you will have to kill the suction with uni-bond/water mix,leave for 24 hours and then tile straight onto the backing coat.
