Quick Answer: How Tight Should Whoop Strap Be

The WHOOP Strap should be placed on the wrist, about 1 inch above the bone of your wrist (away from your hand). The WHOOP Strap should be snug, but not too tight – just tight enough to ensure the sensors make solid contact with your skin.

Does it matter what wrist I wear my whoop on?

We recommend wearing the strap with correct tightness (but comfortable) on the non-dominant hand, and at least two fingers-width above the wrist bone, which helps improve data quality.

Should I take my whoop strap off to shower?

Keep the Strap dry. Or, take off the Strap and let it dry off before putting it back on. If you wear your WHOOP Strap in the shower: Take off the Strap and wash the band and sensor with soap/water. Be sure to rinse thoroughly with water.

Why is my whoop not accurate?

Some members find that putting it higher up the arm is a better way to capture heart rate accurately, especially if you have a smaller wrist. Make sure your WHOOP Strap is threaded correctly. If threaded incorrectly, the band may loosen up, which can impact readings.

Should I wear my whoop strap all the time?

In short answer: YES, you can wear your WHOOP for sleep and recovery only. However, since WHOOP is designed for 24/7 use, it’s recommended to keep your WHOOP on regularly (if possible).
