Yes, you can use acrylic paint on nails. However, you have to choose the proper type and use the right process. Acrylic paint can be toxic, so selecting a non-toxic version is a must. Additionally, you typically want to apply a clear base coat to protect nail surfaces.

Can you mix acrylic paint with clear nail polish?

Mixing nail polish and acrylic paint together is not recommended. Due to the different chemical structures of acrylic paint and nail polish and the water in the paint, mixing the two together will thicken and “curdle” the nail polish.
