How To Clean Cork Board

You can clean a cork bulletin board with mild soap and water. A cork bulletin board can be a very useful item for the home or office. It’s soft, porous texture allows for sticking and pinning of notes, pictures and letters without damaging the surface of the board.

What is the best way to clean cork?

Clean up spills immediately, as cork is porous and will soak up liquids quickly, staining the surface. Once a week, mix a mild cleaning solution of 5 drops of liquid dish detergent and one gallon of warm water. Don’t use a stronger solution as it can cause streaking. Avoid ammonia-based products or abrasive cleaners.

Can you clean cork?

Use rubbing alcohol. Dry the board with a clean, dry cloth. Use 99% or 90% isopropyl rubbing alcohol for the best results. You can put rubbing alcohol directly on a paper towel or tissue and rub that on the old marks. Many hand sanitizers contain rubbing alcohol.

Dab a clean cloth in rubbing alcohol. Apply wood cleaner to a clean cloth and rub the surface again. Wipe the stained area with a damp cloth to remove any cleaner residue.

Instead, we recommend that you hand wash your bottle with a non-abrasive dish soap. Since the lids aren’t powder-coated, they are safe to be washed in the top rack of the dishwasher.
