Do I need underlayment for pond liner?

Underlayment is an important part of building your pond and water features. It helps protect your pond liner from being punctured, and more, over time.

How do you secure a pond liner?

The simplest method for securing your pond liner is an anchor trench. This runs around the outside of your pond, approximately 500mm from the edge, and should be dug to about 300mm deep by 300mm wide. The liner should lap into the trench, be covered by a layer of matting, then the soil replaced over the liner.

Which side of pond liner goes up?

If rolled to the edge, it should be put at the end of the pond on either side of the pond. If on a core, it will be on rolled from the end, and not the center. You need only to unroll the liner and then drag it across the pond.

How thick of a pond liner do I need?
