Question: What Temperature Is Glaze Fired At

Stoneware glaze firings are usually around 1200°C-1300°C. At these temperatures the clay fuses and becomes strong and impervious to water. The glaze fuses with the clay, making the ware very strong.

What temperature is a glaze firing?

Glaze firing should be at 100-130 degrees C per hour with a 30 minute soak. Bloating can result from firing clay above its vitrification point or from insufficient biscuit firing or too fast a ramp rate in the later stage of glaze firing.
