Why Is My Fridge Leaking Water Onto The Floor

A blocked defrost drain is one of the most common causes of water leaking from your refrigerator and is a good place to start troubleshooting. When enough water builds up, it starts leaking out of the refrigerator and onto the floor. Clear the drain by flushing it with hot water.

Why does my fridge leak water on the floor?

A clogged defrost drain is the most likely cause of your fridge leaking water. The fridge automatically defrosts itself and drips water down into a pan. Sometimes, food particles or other debris will clog the defrost drain. Clogs can lead to ice buildup.

How do you stop a refrigerator from leaking water?
