You can either attack or activate the ability.

Does attacking count as tapping?

Attacking creatures are tapped as one of the last steps in declaring attackers, before any player receives priority. Tapping is not a cost for attacking; it just happens.

Can you tap a card thats already tapped?

Can I block with a creature then sacrifice it?

Thanks! You can block, and then still in the declare blockers step, sacrifice it. The attacker will remain blocked and won’t assign combat damage to the player or planeswalker it’s attacking unless it has trample or a similar ability. The creature you sacrificed won’t be there to deal combat damage either though.
