You can easily hang artwork by using a string on the back of the canvas or by simply placing two notch hooks on the same row of pegboard holes to create a stable pegboard easel display. Note – There is about 1/4″ of space between the front notch of the hook and the back of the pegboard.

What hooks to use on pegboard?

Pegboard manufacturers state the standard 3/16″ pegboard can safely hold 100 lbs of weight. The pegboard I tested showed a single peg can hold over 150 lbs without tearing or pulling away from the wall.

Can you use Command hooks on pegboard?

I recommend that you use the 16 lb Command strips to hang your IKEA pegboard. Separate strips by tearing the pieces apart, do not fold. Line up two strips and click them together. You’ll need six sets for the bar and one set for each spacer.
